The heroes of yesterday are dead and gone. Division and the Mutant Control Enforcement Agency (MCEA) saw to that. This dystopia we live in is the result of one anti-mutant hate crime that sparked the third world war. The law now requires mutants to register, to spend the rest of their lives being a number on a file with a tracking device on their wrist or in their bloodstream.

For a while, the children of fallen heroes started to work in the shadows as the new X-Men. Not all that long ago, the latest incarnation of the X-Men was brought down in flames by Division's efforts. Team members captured, Agents killed, Cosmic fire everywhere... It seems as though the days of the X-Men have come and gone once again. Or have they?

Notice: Human Division employees are still much needed, even if they're depowered mutants. We would also love to see more MHA, Morlock and Purifier affiliated characters.

XANTHE EMMELINE KNIGHT
26 | N Y X | PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR | EREBOKINESIS
Xanthe (pronounced Zan-Thee) started out as the average mutant, with mutant parents who were teachers and loved things like sports, painting, and wildlife. But, like many other mutants, the war took that all away. First she lost her father to Division (not confirmed, but suspected), then her mother. A lot of stuff happened in the middle. She went to school for Criminal Law, but after losing her mother, she steered more toward private investigations. It was easier to do things her own way, and it allowed her to move around where ever the cases called, and to take cases that would bring her closer to cracking open the Division mystery. Some may call her a little obsessed, but that's a necessary flaw. Joining the Morlocks was a natural progression, and now she bounces around from city to city, keeping to the underground, and sticking it to the Man anyway she can.

She's not serious all the time, though. Xanthe is a huge fan of humor and comedy and prefers that genre over an action film or a corny romance any night of the week. Her late morning (she usually stays up later and sleeps in) routine consists of orange juice, cereal, and cartoons - but be warned, she tends to be grumpier throughout the day if her cartoons get interrupted. Day isn't really her preferred hours. She tends to shy away from direct sunlight and definitely prefers the evening and night time hours, since that's when she has the most energy. She loves to relax and can be a pretty laid back person, despite the fact that most people only see her serious-working side. Definitely approachable though...well, at least, she's friendlier than she looks!

Erebokinesis is her power, the ability to manipulate darkness and shadows to her will. She can use them to hide or to confused an enemy, to create weapons or useful objects, to bind people, and to travel. She's at her strongest at night and weakest midday, but she's also a fairly skilled fighter thanks to her mother pushing her to take self-defense and kickboxing classes for a few years during the war. She took on the name Nyx in honor of the same-named Greek primordial goddess of the night, and thus far she likes to think she's made Nyx proud.

TABITHA & XANTHE

Hello fellow Morlock!

Tabby is a happy-go-lucky ray of sunshine with the power to blow things up. She's hella friendly and is prone to showing up in the most random places... It's likely because she was raised as a nomad and gets restless easily. All of these things have combined to make her a go-to person for help with finding things. Seriously, she can find the most random things at any time of day, and if she can't she probably knows who can. If Xan ever needs Tabby's help, she's likely to get it because she seems nice, and also Morlocks help Morlocks.

Also, wacky fun side-note? Division took Tabby's mom when she was little and Tabs still doesn't even know if her mom is still alive. She spent yeaaars trying to find her, and had gone on all kinds of goose chases until she landed in Chicago. Tabitha isn't likely to hire Xan to help her find out what happened to her mom, but she'd make for great moral support.
